Not an Option

Dwelling in despair is not an option. Suck it up already.

  • Buy flowers at the Farmer's Market today
  • Make the limealato move on to Stage 2
  • Go clothes shopping ... Friday or Saturday ... and maybe buy something ridiculous
  • Exercise. Duh.
  • Kiss your dogs
  • Be thankful.

baking w/something or other

I keep thinking I'm going to make meringues to send to Betty and Mom, and maybe Geemaw, and now maybe Lou, and then I don't.

But I should. It would be the right thing to do, send some mail. Everybody likes nice mail.

  • I am unsure if anyone would like sf meringues
  • I know Geemaw definitely wouldn't like sf meringues
  • Need to find something all 4 would like? Or 2 diabetic, 2 not?
  • Geemaw might like Cat Cora's date bars, or a bread ... something freezeable and old school
  • Does Lou even eat sweets, what with the alcohol? Ask Nita
  • Mom and Betty would like something chocolate. Research!
  • Maybe I should try on sf meringues all for my ownself. I sure did like the sugar ones in March.

Larnin'

You know, Salma, you've been thinking of taking a class for awhile now. Why not just go ahead and commit and see what happens?

You are a big girl, you know. You can do this one all by yourself.

Things you've thought of in the past but haven't gotten beyond just thinking about:

And beyond that, how about those other ones?

  • knife skills
  • Spanish
  • that damn drama class

Scared yourself with that last one, didn't you? :)

The first post ... AND ... themed dinner blather

Think of this as a glorified sticky/email system, and all will become clear to you, Salma. Other Reader, if you are here, I pity you - for these posts truly exist for Salma and may never be written so that they are understandable to another.

We commence!

Cat Cora's book is pretty with a simple design and her food seems like it would be present pretty and be simple to prepare, too. I wouldn't mind using her recipes to cook with Rob sometime, or at a dinner party. Her figs really got to me. It would have been fun to do some group cooking at the Cottage. The ladies always seem clueless but into cooking. Bah, Cottage. Let it go, Salma, let it go.

It would be fun to have a themed dinner sometime - everything from the same cookbook, or all the ingredients from a farmer's market, or maybe every dish using one ingredient in common. Julia might be into that, or Kelly. Blueberry season is coming up. We've tried themed dinners for the play readings and it doesn't work - but I'm pretty sure the not working part is coming from the mix of people, and not that it isn't a good idea.

  • Float idea to Julia and/or Kellly and/or Rob
  • Try doing a whole meal with recipes with just Rob first?
  • Would this be a good birthday event for me? Pft, not at our house. Oh, well.
